Silêncio - ROMP

SOLO EXHIBITION "SILENCE" By Romp Stoneexhibition dates - 05/05 -- 01/07 Sculptor Romp Stones first solo exhibition- "Silence" presents a collection of seven pieces in marble stone. The transition to a life that happens more from the inside out and the confrontation with the notions of silence, space, absence, permanence and emptiness create the impetus for this collection. The Lacobrigense artist, who holds a master's degree in Product Design and is an annual resident at LAC, drew from her relationship with yoga, meditation and solo walks, the crème de lá crème that gave rise to this collection, which is very representative of the quality of existing without thought, information and ego.Absolutely fascinated by exploring the possibilities of stone work and what can be represented by using it, Romp Stone aims to lead to reflection on the need for silence and space in a world of noise, chaos and constant stimulation. In addition to the autobiographical aspect of all her work, the sculptor drew inspiration from Thich Nhat Hahn's book "Silence", from her experience in an Iyengar yoga workshop with teacher Luísa Geraldes and from comedian Bruno Nogueira's chronicle, "Metro Quadrado de Silêncio", about the right to silence and the way we run away from it at all costs for fear of dealing with stillness and absence/emptiness.
